Surfing in the Basque Country

It is very difficult to know where is the best surf spot in the Basque country because it depends on your level but above the weather as it can become really difficult next season.

However, Basque surfer remains a favorite with the Basque pelota course sports. Mundaka beach is known around the world for the consistency of its beautiful waves, sought by surfers worldwide and even international competitions that have made it one of their favorite spot. The waves can sometimes be very high but the curve is often beautiful.

Nearby, we Zarautz, a town famous for surfing which is part of everyday life. often one considers the city as the largest city in Spain for surfing. Its beach is 3 km parallel to the promenade and is one of its strengths to have enough space and avoid friction between surfers. Moreover, the beach is perfect for beginners, with many surfing schools and of course for the holidays by the sea.

If we talk of the Basque Country we can not forget San Sebastian. National Geographic recently included the capital of Gipuzkoa in the list of best places for surfing. Zurriola Beach is definitely the reference. Located in the heart of one of the most beautiful cities in Spain, you can surf at any time because of the consistency of the waves.

Surfing Galicia

This community also has a wide range of tracks and thus surf spot in the Atlantic. The coast has waves for surfers of all levels. You just refers to the particular Razo beach with waves well formed due to its position in the northwest of the country. The beach of Pantin is also known to be a good surf spot in Galicia.
